On etiquette and fondue. Cause thats what important.
So.
One week in.
It's not possible to tan at school. And thats sad.
Had a kid ask me if I was wearing pants. So thats always nice.
But this weekend I am on holiday.
Had a fondue party. The red couch had its debut.
Toblerone chocolate. Basil Gryere cheese. OHWOW.
OOOO. Also, I have dscovered this RAD as site. With non-mainstream indie music.

Oh mum. You smell nicer than my car.
So remember my blog about this time last year about mink blankie's? http://spoonfullofdaniela.blogspot.com/2010/01/remember-mink.html
or this one about running away from a furniture store to mums hot drink?
Yeah well.
Im sitting in a coffee shop being stealth with the internet.
Because I got my internet router sent to the wrong address.
Anyway.
Point is.
I have moved.
To a space I get to fill.
Again with the tears.
Again with the midlifey crisis moments.
Again with the awesome mum.
Far out.
She is better than that mink blanket.
She plodded down in the ute just so I could have the purple bookshelf I painted when I was a tween.
Actually not true.
She is a woman.
Who knows about the width of curtain pleats.
She also knows that red towels need to be washed separate.
She knew that the black couch would be more practical, but encouraged me to get the red one cause it was more me.
She also asked the questions to the scary german landlords while I peeked out from her apron strings.
She gave me hug.
That almost undid me.
Then did me back up again.
Oh wow mum.
Thanks for coming on that first grocery shop with me as an adult.
Magic words: "You get whatever crackers you like dana".
ICANWHAT????? Oh sweet choice. haha.
So mum.
Cheers to the hottest cat in the block.
I love your blondeness for ever.

Summer Discoveries
So.
I tried dappling with lanscapey shots. But my faux ADHDness got the better of me. And I lasted one shot.
I love artistic temperaments. different creative personalities.
Just thought i'd share my experimentation.
No pressure. Full on sunshiney flavoured experiments.
All on a precious Sabbath.
Here a pic I took of my friend playing with the framing of the shot- lanscape or portrait. Totally changes the 'fahlavour' of the image.

I know for a fact I prefer people. They talk back to you and may laugh at your jokes.
I love artistic temperaments. different creative personalities.
He draws and I paint.
So I also decided to flip the 200mm lens and take a pic through it using the Manual focus on the other tinesque lens.
Could potentially be rad with a(lot) of tweaking.
Oooo random one- Late at night. Cant remember the settings. But I do remember getting ted to run. lots.
HA. While I stood there. Being awesome.
And this is me.
With a bit o tweaking in Iphoto.
I love Mac flavoured products.

The Lurrrve Bug.
So scuse me while I share something deep.
Maybe I'm niave, young or dense or whatever- but it has just hit me.
Love is a sacrifice.
That saying "treat others how you love to be treated", may work for you to recieve love, but to give love- you have to speak their langauage. And unless your the same emotional nationality- your a foreigner and have to dig out the phrase book to give the love that person will recieve.
And it's not easy. Thats why its a sacrifice.
And that, kids- is perhaps my last deep insight for 2010.
Anyway,
Love languages.
Gary Chapman is a champ. He has interpreted for me many times and has not even met me.
He's the author of the 5 love languages.
Here's a run down of the 5 love languages that describe how we recieve love. The trick after that is learning how to sacrifice our love language to speak love to someone else.
"The 5 Love Languages®
-
Words of Affirmation
Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important—hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and arae not easily forgotten. -
Quality Time
In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful. -
Receiving Gifts
Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrives on the love, thoughtfulness, and effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you. A missed birthday, anniversary, or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous—so would the absence of everyday gestures. -
Acts of Service
Can vacuuming the floors really be an expression of love? Absolutely! Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities weighing on an “Acts of Service” person will speak volumes. The words he or she most want to hear: “Let me do that for you.” Laziness, broken commitments, and making more work for them tell speakers of this language their feelings don’t matter. -
Physical Touch
This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive".
Anyway, anyway, Anyway.
My Dad's language of love is service.
He takes it as a personal insult if I forget to bring in the washing (never mind the fact that I just told him he suited grey hair).
He's MRBEHINDTHESCENES.
And this is the result:
He sourced 3 VW's and combined their forces.
He's a champ.

Nutter in the corner staring at children.
There is something dandy about writing with a pen.
And even dandier drawing.
I have missed it.
The awkward shuffles of people slowing down to stare over your shoulder.
The waitresses thinking they are stealth by not sloshing the coffee while they look at what the nutter at table 7 is drawing.
Anyway, anyway, anyway.
Point is.
Heres a few moments from allbymyselfinpublicplaces.
OOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
Also. there is this thing in NZ.
I think everyone should go.
